DRG Purpose
The purpose of the Diversity Resource Group (DRG) is to enable Mecklenburg EMS Agency to be a model diverse organization by being a resource for employees while providing education and support. We would like to build a bridge between what most people think of as “diversity training” and what diversity training should really include at our Agency. Our group is committed to being a resource for diversity related questions by providing a safe venue to raise concerns and/or make suggestions on how to assist Medic meet its commitment to equity and inclusion in the workplace. We also want to celebrate YOUR diversity, host on-site events intended to spark conversations and interact with one another by sharing our unique attributes. We all have a story and DRG wants to hear how to celebrate and honor yours!
Membership
Medic’s Diversity Resource Group (DRG) is an interdepartmental group who serves as a resource for education, support and communication surrounding diversity and inclusion. In order to create a well-balanced group, we need representatives from different departments and backgrounds. If you have a passion for diversity training and creating cultural events on-site and within the community, then we are looking for YOU! Membership requires attendance at monthly meetings and a two year committent.

THE SELECTION PROCESS
- DRG is currently accepting applications.
- In order to create a blind selection process, all applicants’ information will be removed (i.e., names, positions or any “identifiers” before your application is considered for membership). Please be very clear as to how you can support this group’s mission in your application.
- Selected applicants will be scheduled for a panel interview.
