Perspective employees and current field employees who have been out on leave (off the truck) for 90 or more days will need to pass the Medic Physical Ability Test, also known as MEDPAT.
MEDPAT is designed to simulate the critical physical tasks performed by Paramedics and EMT’s during emergency situations. This test has been designed to simulate only tasks deemed to be critical by employees of Mecklenburg EMS Agency and is not necessarily representative of tasks performed in other agencies.
The MEDPAT course consists of eight events performed continuously and timed by an instructor. The candidate must complete MEDPAT in seven minutes or less as they are guided through the course by a representative of Safety.
See below for a preview of the MEDPAT and contact safety@medic911.com with any questions or comments.
