Mr. Schultz went into severe respiratory distress while visiting Charlotte for business in November of 2014. A bystander called 911, Emergency Medical Dispatcher Thomas Slack took the call and gathered information while help was on its way. Charlotte Fire Department and Medic arrived shortly to the scene. Mr. Schultz is a survivor today due early to Advanced Life Support Intervention, excellent patient care and our strong partnership with our partner agencies.

Please join Medic and Mr. Schultz in congratulating Paramedics Matthew Needs, Donnell Wilson and EMD Thomas Slack on an outstanding job!

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Charlotte Fire Department and the hospital staff of Carolinas Medical Center Main for their assistance and successful teamwork in helping to treat Mr. Schultz.
