2024 Open Enrollment, Health Fair and Benefits Information

Medic is proud to offer multiple benefit packages this year through Mecklenburg County to care for yourself and your loved ones.


Open Enrollment will begin Monday, October 2nd and ends on Monday, October 30th . We will continue to offer discounted premiums, so long as all of the wellness initiatives are completed by the deadline. As a reminder, the wellness rates equate to a $1000 annual savings with the completion of all wellness initiatives.

In order to receive discounted premiums for the 2024 year, the following items must be completed by Monday, October 30, 2023:   

  1. FLU VACCINE: Schedule your Flu Vaccine by clicking here.

    • Schedule your biometrics screening appointment by clicking here.
  3. HEALTH RISK ASSESMENT (HRA): Complete the online HRA questionnaire through Atrium Health by logging into HRA Assessment

OPEN ENROLLMENT ELECTIONS VIA UKG: If you are ready to complete your online Open Enrollment via UKG click here. Full-time, benefit eligible employees must make open enrollment selections through the payroll portal.

The Health Fair will be onsite from October 9th through October 12th.  Monday and Wednesday hours are from 1400-1900; Tuesday and Thursday hours are from 0900-1400. All of the wellness initiatives can be completed during the Health Fair.  Biometrics will be held in Classrooms 117A/B and you must schedule an appointment.  The flu vaccine is mandatory every year (medical and exemption request process still in place), and the on-site clinics will be in the Outdoor Sound Stage during the Health Fair. You must also make an appointment to obtain your flu shot during the clinic. Appointments can be made using the links above and should be scheduled no later than Thursday, October 5th.

    • BCBS is our medical plan provider
      • Medic offers PPO and High Deductible plan options
      • All employees are eligible to enroll in any of the medical plan options
    • CVS Caremark is our prescription drug provider
    • Health Equity as our HSA provider
    • Medic’s contribution to your HSA account will be based on the plan you choose.
    • Standard High Deductible Plan = $250 Individual/$500 Family
    • Enhanced High Deductible Plan = $400 Individual/$800 Family
    • Catapult is our Flexible Spending (FSA) and Dependent Care (DCA) provider


    • Remains with Cigna
    • Standard and Enhanced plan options available
    • Increased plan maximums
    • Enhanced plan will now offer Orthodontia (includes adults) and implants with a lifetime maximum of $2,000


    • Remains with EyeMed 360
    • Premiums remain the same for standard and enhanced options

More details surrounding these benefit program changes and how to complete wellness initiatives will be distributed through the LMS (annual HR benefits presentation) and can be found on the 2024 Medic Benefits Brochure on the Extranet or printed copies available in common areas.
