incident investigations

Incident investigations are important. They help identify where a problem may exist, where training is needed and/or where failure may have occurred. In the upcoming months, the Risk & Safety Specialist and the Occupational Health Nurse will be expanding their knowledge of causation related to reported incidents. This will include training on identification of cause: proximate, underlining, and root.

The goal is to identify cause, pull statistics, test ideas, create trainings, and close gaps in processes.  We expect to reduce risks by becoming more proactive in closing those gaps and providing more support where needed.  The department’s hope is that this work will assist in lowering our number of vehicle accidents and on-the-job injuries. Expect to see more on incident investigations in the months to come.
