On August 7th, 2012 Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Deputy James Klutz met the Medic crew who helped save his life. The deputy was off duty and mowing his lawn when he was stung by multiple yellow jackets on July 12th, 2012. He started to have a life-threatening allergic reaction and lost consciousness.
Medic Assistant CMED Supervisor Barry Thorton, Paramedic Crew Chief Jerome Souza and Paramedics Kim Parlier and Kenneth Nicoletti all quickly together to get Deputy Klutz the life-saving help he desperately needed.
Deputy Klutz came to Medic headquarters to personally thank the crew members. He said he is aware of how hard Medic’s Paramedics and EMTs work and wanted to let them know how grateful and appreciative he is for their hard work to save his life.Back to Survivor Stories
