On August 22nd, 2013 Medic Paramedics Nina Bost and Elijah Gamble arrived at the Johnson home to find Mr. Johnson conscious and alert, but with an accelerated heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute. His internal defibrillator failed to start. Bost and Gamble successfully restored his heart to normal rhythm on scene and Mr. Johnson was rushed to the hospital.
Mr. Johnson has since made a full recovery and spends his spare time carving wood. He gave the Medic crew two custom wood carvings as a sincere token of his gratitude for helping to save his life.Back to Survivor Stories
