On April 23rd, 2012 survivor Helen Servicky was reunited with Paramedics Adam Bolinger, Gene Starnes and Telecommunicator Kim Phillips as part of a patient reunion.
Helen collapsed in her home after going into cardiac arrest. Her son, Ron, called 911 and was talked on how to perform CPR by Medic Telecommunicator Kim Phillips. His actions gave his mother a fighting chance once Medic Paramedics Gene Starnes, Adam Bolinger and Karen Bednarik arrived on scene. The Medic crew initiated Code Cool and achieved ROSC (Return of Spontaneous Circulation), but Ms. Servicky went into another cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital. CPR was started once again and an ROSC was achieved for the second time during transport. Mrs. Servicky had a pulse when the Medic crew arrived at the hospital and transferred patient care.
The Servicky family said they were incredibly impressed with the level of care and professionalism they received from the Medic team, from the second they called 911, to the moment of patient transfer as well as during the patient reunion.Back to Survivor Stories
