Medic is collaborating with the Charlotte Fire Department, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, and the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office to host the first annual Diversity Equity and Inclusion Conference April 14-17. The aim of the conference is to bring together a diverse group of people and presenters to have a multi-faceted discussion including recruitment, legal issues, cultural diversity, and human relations with the goal of improving inclusion and equity in our respective workplaces.
Medic is committed to stand together with our public safety partners to identify areas for improvement, learn from and with each other, and move towards solutions by:
- Developing programs that increase diversity awareness, improve inclusionary efforts, and foster equal opportunity for all;
- Creating an environment free of discrimination, harassment and intimidation;
- Assuring each individual person the opportunity to achieve his/her highest potential;
- Establishing an atmosphere that instills ethical practices and produces quality leadership
