Quality Improvement Specialist Job Description

Do you have the ability to analyze details, make inferences and formulate recommendations for change or improvement? Are you attentive to detail and have an inquisitive nature that drives a strong desire to learn from a database of clinical information?

The Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for maintaining a multi-relational database that contains data on all out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients treated by Medic. Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Incorporate relevant clinical data (e.g., cardiac monitor QCPR) into a comprehensive database
  • Performs retrospective quality review of electronic patient care report data for selected priorities and categories
  • Create specialized reports, charts and graphs of data for presentation
  • Assists with implementing clinical quality improvement strategies

Position requires familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, as well as a variety of computer technologies and databases. Experience working with business intelligence software applications is desirable.

Minimum of Associate of Applied Science from two-year college or equivalent college experience preferred, but not required. Experience as a Paramedic or  Emergency Medical Technician is helpful, but not required.
